Joe Shereda serves as Senior Vice President—Member Services, responsible for leading the Member Services and Underwriting operations of the company. Among other areas, Joe’s group focuses on member firm recruitment and retention, underwriting and policy administration, and counseling members on a wide range of issues relating to risk, insurance, and firm operations. The department also houses the company’s Office of General Counsel.
Joe has been with the Member Services group since he joined ALAS in 2008. Over the years, Joe has gained deep experience working with members on some of their most significant projects and challenges, including mergers and other combinations, complex client-related issues, and evaluating coverage options and adequacy.
In his role, Joe meets regularly with the management and general counsel teams of both current and prospective member firms to discuss ALAS’s coverage programs and industry-leading claims and risk management services. Joe is involved in every aspect of member firm recruitment and retention, working with colleagues across the company to protect and strengthen the ALAS membership.
Prior to joining ALAS, Joe practiced in the Chicago office of Jones Day, where he litigated commercial disputes and white-collar criminal matters.
